Who are you? I wouldn’t really blame you asking that, seeing as I’ve not published a blog post since August. To be honest, I’ve neglected The Crown Wings, and all of you, but I have had my reasons. Now that I’m back, I thought it was only right I sit down and tell you everything I’ve been up to over the last three months. So whether you’re a regular reader or new to my blog, let’s have a catch-up.
For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been studying MSc Marketing since September 2016. Postgraduate and Masters courses are a little bit different from your usual degrees in that most continue over, what would be, the Summer break. So, whilst a lot of you headed off on Summer holidays, I was hard at work, completing my final assignment. The final module for my degree was quite open, giving me the choice to do a traditional dissertation, or do an internship instead. I was one of the fortunate few on my course that found a company willing to have me for the duration of the module meaning I could get some practical experience before graduating. However, in addition to working full-time at my internship, I also had to conduct research, collect and analyse data, write a report and do a presentation. Needless to say, for those 15 weeks, my weekends were completely dedicated to doing my assessment. It was tough going at times, but you know what? I did it and I’m so happy to say that I will be graduating with a Distinction in December! Can I get a whoop whoop?!
Dealing with all my University work, I don’t think it was any surprise that I struggled to keep up with a regular blogging schedule. I tried really hard to manage doing both my research and blogging at a weekend, but I was just exhausting myself. Eventually, it came to a point when I had to sit down, be realistic and prioritise what needed to be done. With a deadline approaching, I hadn’t worked so hard on my degree to just throw it away during the final module. So I took a blogging break. My social media went slightly quieter, and no new blog posts were published, but it wasn’t forever and I’m back. I honestly missed blogging and everything it encompasses so much and was gutted to stand on the outside of the community, but it had to be done.
Doom and gloom over, I’m now back and (hopefully) better than ever. I’m bursting with lots of content ideas to share with you, so much so I’m actually struggling to fit them all into the schedule! Now that my degree is finished, I’m done with creating posts I’m not 100% happy with and only want to share the best content with you. I’m motivated and inspired, and really excited to see where it goes!
Last, but certainly not least, is my travel update. With my wanderlust being as strong as ever, I was super thankful to be heading off on a family trip as soon as my final assessment was handed in. Oh, and this family trip just so happened to be the most amazing cruise around the Mediterranean. With stops in Naples, Rome, Florence, Cannes and Palma, my first cruise was an incredible whirlwind. Although I’ve still got quite a few post from my trip to Northeastern USA and Canada left, I can’t wait to share all the details of my latest adventure.
As for future trips, I sadly have nothing planned until April 2018, but who knows what may happen until then?!
So that’s my Autumn update. What have you been doing over the last 3 months? Let me know your favourite thing in the comments below!
