My skin has been acting up lately thanks to stressing over my MSc research report. Nothing seemed to be helping it, so on a recent trip to my local Boots, I decided to try something new. Thank God for Boots offers, because without them, I wouldn’t have picked up this amazing duo from the Biore Charcoal range.
Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser
A complete chance buy, this cleanser is a hidden gem. A black gel cleanser that foams white and rinses clean, it’s no secret that the Biore Charcoal Cleanser uses Charocal. Charcoal is a bit of a buzz ingredient in the beauty industry at the moment, but it lives up to the hype. Said to draw out dirt and impurities whilst purifying your pores, it deep cleanses your skin to perfection. After massaging it over a wet face and rinsing thoroughly I was left with a very mild tingling feel. Those of you who like instant gratification will be happily surprised by how smooth your skin looks. The real test was if it cleared my skin up. I was amazed the next day when my skin already started the calm down. My breakouts had reduced and I was finally getting back on top of my skin. 3 weeks later and I’m still loving it especially because it’s amazing value. At £5.24 (£3.45 at Superdrug!), it’s a fraction of the price of my usual cleanser.
Oh, and a quick side note, I’m a huge fan of the pump dispenser because it makes life a lot easier and cleaner.
Biore Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips
Now for the product I was actually planning on buying. Despite reading loads of reviews of different versions, I’ve never tried nose strips before. Why?! As someone who loves peel of masks, surely this is right up my street?! Anyway, delay aside, I finally got my hands on a pack of 6. Infused with natural charcoal, the strips as said to draw out any excess oil and dirt, giving your pores a deep clean. Simply apply the strip to a thoroughly wet nose, peel the plastic off and leave for 10-15 whilst the strip goes stiff. Once it’s ready, peel from the edges inwards. Now, without being too gross, the gunk that these strips get out is incredible. I didn’t think I had a problem with blackheads on my nose, but clearly, I was wrong. Since using the strips once every two weeks, I’ve noticed a massive difference in my pore size too. At £9.49 a pack, they’re not the cheapest product but well worth the price.
As you can probably tell, I’ve really enjoyed using the Biore Charcoal range and would recommend it in a heartbeat.
