Welcome back to the fashion trends report this season. Today I'm talking about three more key looks seen on the catwalks so you will know what to look out for when hitting the high street. These three are a bit like marmite, you will either have a wardrobe full of it, or run for the hills. Hopefully there will be something you like.
Seen on the catwalks of Celine, Fendi and Chanel quilted styles look to be huge this year. Personally, I'm not very keen on this trend. Big parka's were everywhere, but the only quilted item I have at the moment is a Barbour jacket. Whilst I guess it would be quite warm and comfy, the quilting adds bulk and just does not appeal to me. I think if the highs street do quilted skater skirts this trend may be saved but if it's just parka's, I'll be giving it a miss.
One trend I can definitely get onboard with is checks. Mia Miu and Bottega Veneta both showcased vibrant looks but my favourite was Henry Holland's pink and red checked coat. The key to this check is to choose a bright colour and use it as your wardrobe statement piece.
It's so fluffy
Having a fluffy white dog, I've been avoiding getting hair on my clothes for years. Clearly I don't need to worry this season and hug Oliver to my hearts content as fluffy is in. Seen at Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and Stella McCartney, faux fur is back. Be it daring pink faux-fur coats or a nod to the trend with a simple trim, this trend is practical in the winter chill and easy to incorporate into your style. I will point out that faux-fur does take a little bit of upkeep to stop you looking matted and doesn't work well in rain. Maybe this isn't as practical as it first looks.
Out of these three trends I will be completely dedicated to checks, and most likely avoiding quilting and faux-fur. What do you think?
