|Foreo Luna for Combination Skin – £145|
I’m always hesitant to use the ‘holy grail’ tag. Holy grail means it can’t get any better, and as a beauty blogger I spend my life searching for my perfect products and I like to think that there is always room for improvement. That being said, every once in a while, a product comes along that makes me wonder how I survived without it. Introducing the Foreo Luna.
Winner of the Elle Beauty Award 2014, the Foreo Luna is a skincare revelation which cleanses, smoothes and rejuvenates your skin. During the Black Friday sales I grabbed a full-size Foreo Luna for Combination Skin (they do different versions depending on your skin type) after swooning over reviews for a while. I decided on the full size Luna as the small one just seemed too small and would actually take longer to use. The full size Luna is the size of a normal size hand, curved in shape, almost like a half egg and comes with a charger and a little silk pouch for travel. After charging for an inital 2 hours, I’m still yet to have to re-charge it. That’s 4 months usage so far!
As I said, the Luna is curved in it’s shape, which helps it fit into your contours of your face, especially round your nose. On one side, there’s some nodules and the other side is smooth. Each side has it’s own programme, one is deep cleansing and the other for anti-aging. Once you start the programme the Luna begins to vibrate, the intensity of which can be controlled by the plus and minus buttons. Simply massage a cleanser (or serum if you’re using the anti-aging programme) into your skin, and move onto a different area when the vibrations temporarily pause.
One of the things that made me interested in the Foreo Luna was how gentle it was on your skin. On first use, I didn’t think it did anything for my skin, so proceeded to remove my makeup with a cotton pad and makeup remover. It really did feel like I was just rubbing a piece of plastic on my face. Attractive. To my shock, there was no makeup to remove and my skin was already cleansed. What’s great about it is that because it’s so gentle you can use it twice a day and it won’t irritate your skin. After a week, my skin seemed to start to look smoother and brighter. After a month it had unclogged my congested skin and kept blemishes to the minimum. It was clear there was more to the Luna than just a bit of vibrating plastic.
Although it is initally quite pricey at just under £150, I do think the Foreo Luna is great value for money. Unlike other cleansing tools, there is no need to buy replacement heads, simply wash the plastic. Replacement batteries aren’t an issue either, and you don’t have to worry about having to charge it every week. The battery life is insane so it’s very practical too.
If you haven’t guessed it, this little piece of baby blue has changed my cleansing routine for the better. Have any of you tried the Foreo Luna? What do you think?
