This week AW post focuses on the sleeker, "cooler" trends to grace the catwalk. Two looks that played key roles were Cubism and Androgynous Fashion. As I've always been a girly girl and never once gone through a "tomboy phase" I do feel daunted at the prospect of dressing in a more masculine way. However after finding these pictures, I think I have some inspiration. Taking Emma Watson's lead, I'm going to keep the suit fitted and my make-up glam. Combined with heels and a waist clinching belt, it's possibly the most chic look possible. If black and white is not your think, you might be more interested in the Cubist trend. From flat printed shifts to full on 3D pieces, you can choose how much of a statement you want to make. Bright and bold to muted and simple, the choice is yours and you can find a piece to fit with your style. I absolutely love the idea of layering different pieces of material on top of each other, and think it creates such a unique and elegant look.

Always one for vintage fashion, this season gives a nod to mod. Embracing your inner twiggy by either committing fully to a retro look, or simply adding touches such as a cute collar, smart shift dress, A-line coat or dogtooth tights. Like with all trends, its up to you how far you want to take it, I really love how a mod look has been incorporated into the bottom left outfit with a crop top and skirt, ideal if you want to get more use out of your summer wardrobe! One trend I'm not convinced will be for me is knee high boots. Although they were seen everywhere, the look doesn't appeal to me. Saying that, I do like the cape & boots combo so I may eat my words in a month or two. Watch this space ...
