I'm just going to come out and say it. Interior design excites me. My room is one of the most neglected room's in the house. For the last three years it's been on the to-do list, but has been put off because, put simply, a lot happened. Last year I made the hard decision to move home after university, and for the foreseeable future I'll be staying there. I hate living on my own, so until I'm in a position in which I can a) afford to move out and b) have someone to live with that won't drive my crazy, I'm staying put. I would just like to add that that's completely fine with my parents. I'm an only child, and if my mum had it her way, I'd never leave. Awkwardly that might come true.
Anyway, ramble aside, this Easter we are finally decorating and sorting out my room. I've been collecting bits for a while because I am a total perfectionist, but there are still one or two things I've still got to get so I thought I'd show you what things have been on my radar when I've been having a browse. The big purchase I'm going to make is an ottoman/seat for an awkward area in my room. It's very hard to explain but I have a raised built-in wardrobe in my room, and need something for the wall underneath it. This seat from Next immediately caught my eye, and if the measurements add up, its going to be the one. If I do decide to get it, I'll have to invest in new cushions, obviously, and the boucle fabric on this pink one is really different. There's a distinct animal theme with all the decorations that have caught my eye. I love this bird jar from ebay and this rabbit box is very appropriate with Easter just round the corner. I think this plate wins the most unusual animal decoration though! I love how quirky it is and would actually fit in really well in my room. Of course a new room means new bedding. I've already got the matching storage bags to this set, so I'm not sure if it would be too matchy matchy, but the frills are exactly my style, so it's really only a matter of time.
So those are some of the things I have my eye on. I'm going to Ikea next week so if you don't see any new posts, I'll still be trying to find my way out.
