Concussion, Coughs & Colds
Well Autumn came with a bang this month. Literally. I gave myself concussion by gracefully headbutting my bathroom sink. Did I mention I won an award at University for being most accident prone? Having concussion was bad enough, but having to go to an interview the very next morning when your zoning out and feeling sick isn't ideal. Saying that, it must have knocked some sense into me because I got the legal placement! One step closer to a training contract and a job as a trainee solicitor. A week later and I had what I can only describe as the flu from hell. Oh and now I've been told my lung capacity is ridiculously low. Think its safe to say I've had my fair share of accidents and illness this month.
I would say things only got better but the truth is I've been in a bit of a downer this month. I completely adore my LL.M LPC course, its the best thing I've ever done, but the world load is ridiculous. I have never worked harder in my life. My undergraduate degree was nothing compared to this and I've been left feeling a little bit burnt out. Thankfully its now Consolidation Week, which is similar to Reading Week or Half-Term, but different in that you actually have to do work because their is literally no other option. I've been really trying to spoil myself, indulging in Lush baths, going to see Wicked: The Musical and burning a lot of Yankee Candles. Even though I've got mocks in November, I'm determined to stay more relaxed and get a better balance. It's just all down to trial and error.
After around 6 months of desperation I finally got my hands on a Tarte Blush! I know a lot of countries have these readily available, but over here in the UK they are like gold dust, so when I stumbled upon this beauty in a blog sale, it had my name written all over. It don't want to say too much about it, other than its love, because I'm doing a more detailed review soon. Again something I'm not going to go into too much detail about as a review is coming very very soon, but I have been swearing by H. Gillerman Pure Breathing Sinus Remedy. It's unblocked my nose without making me smell of Olbas Oil, calmed me down when I'm stressed and just generally made me feel like I'm in the land of the living and not a real-life Halloween Zombie. Pricey, but worth it. Another thing I've tried for the very first time is Starbucks seasonal drinks. I have an addiction to the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. Its like liquid Millionaires Shortcake! I'm rationing myself to one a week, but its so hard when there is a Starbucks on every corner in Manchester.
So that's been my month. Its been one thing after another as I'm sure you can tell, but when I look back, its not been as dreadful as I thought. What have you all been up to?
